Uno Dos / Ah Uno dos tres

Vinylmania, the dance institution in New York City is to close this weekend. Now if that isn’t sad enough….check this, from Keith Thompson who sang on, what to me is one of the most perfect house records of all time:

... but Vinylmania sold close to 13,000 of "Break 4 Love" when it first came out on Grove St. in 1987

13,000! From one, very small rekid shop.....few dance records on vinyl sell 1000 worldwide these days. Aly Us’ classic Follow Me is reputed to have sold in excess of 100,000 on vinyl in the early nineties….how things change...I feel old...

Ok I'm over that now...

Then there is this…..

I guess if the cap fits And this.... which Tiesto may well own....

Hmm...just googled Tiesto and then the Opinionated Diner

Seems the rest of the planet doesnt share the view of One UTube idiot and an ageing music commentator stuck in the eighties.

hmm... you can rely on a wee bit of trance to bring out the comments from the anonymous twats.

Basing one's opinions on google results is a tad sad, no?

And putting that much effort into your frustrations is not good for one's soul. Don't you have exams to study for or something?

In your own words...

It seems you do NOT wear your cap comfortably,

One can also rely on an alternate point of view to elicit condescending comments from baby boomer bloggers with an extended view of themselves.

Trying to reinforce ones opionion with a UTube clip seems equally as sad. Non

still anonymous I see. The courage that must take, no?

I'd happily wager that my musical tastes are far more contemporary and catholic than yours as a quick swizz through my blog would indicate.

Certainly I have more of a sense of humour than you my gutless friend.

But yes, I happily admit that the one, and perhaps only ,genre I have don't have any time is trance, a particularly shallow and soulless form of self aggrandizing twaddle aimed at the lowest common denominator.

Anonymous I shall remain, that doesnt make my opinion or courage less valid than yours.

Your perceived elitist musical tastes may be varied, wager away, you may be shocked, that does not make the genre less relevent in the ears of those that enjoy the likes of Camel,Eno,Frip or Belew to name a few

Listen without predjudice and you may find two ears and an ego do not make you an expert of all things musical.

Actually it does make your opinion absolutely less valid than someone who puts their name to it. I'll take a comment and a point of view from anyone who has the balls to say it's theirs and stand behind it, but a commenter who makes puerile snide comments behind an anonymous tag is simply a coward, nothing more and nothing less.

Your opinion remains worthless as such and you are a coward...bye....

LOLtastic clip

one of them that the seemingly beseiged (humourless) trance fans cannot see the humour of?

Would be just as funny if it was someone from another genre

If it had been Henrik Schwarz (for example) I would have laughed too but the rest of the globe would simply be saying who???
